1. General Provisions
After the cold asphalt mixture is discharged from the mixing plant, it should be unloaded onto a dry and clean ground surface and covered with a tarp to avoid sun exposure. Once the cold asphalt mixture has cooled to room temperature, it should be bagged and sealed. Finished cold asphalt mixture should preferably be stored indoors. If outdoor storage is unavoidable, waterproof and sun protection measures must be taken.
2. Temporary Storage
If the cold asphalt mixture is planned to be used within a week, it can be temporarily stored outdoors in bulk form. During temporary storage, the cold asphalt mixture should be piled in a pyramid shape with a minimum of 20 tons and covered with a tarp to avoid sun exposure.
3. If the cold asphalt mixture is to be used for more than a week, it must be bagged and sealed for storage.
